My artwork is the letter "K" representing the initian for my last name. I created this by glueing black walnut and cherry boards together, then i plained doen the raw board so it has a nice smooth surface.

For my final artwork i am making my first initial out of black walnut, and cherry wood. I glued the raw pieces together and i am going to plane them down so they are smooth and then i will find a trace and trace a C on my wood, then cutting it out with the bandsaw and adding a few coats of a clear finish. I like the idea of this artwork because it has different pieces of wood glued together in a formal pattern making in pleasant to look at.
My clay sculpture of a turtle went ok. The legs broke so i just took the rest off and smoothed it out as much as i could. I used orange-a-peel on the inside and koi pond on the outside. There was lots of obstacles to overcome with this and it took planning and lots of envisioning to see what the best way to sculpt this was. I used green thumb for the head also.
This is my wire sculpture, to craft this i used the measurements Ms. Underhill gave us for pieces of wire and we looked up the directions on how to bend the wire and make it into a person. i then took pieces of tin foil and made the shape of its body lines. Once i was finished with this i used mod podge glue and glued paper around the figure and let it dry to make it hard and workable. Then i took it and spray painted it mostly green with hints of matalec chrome. The figure is in the form of a football player throwing a football.
I created this artwork with cardboard and hot glue, it consists of triangles on top of each other both ways. It shows balance and geometry. My goals for this was to make something interesting to a human eye and something that makes people wonder. My overall thought is that it was a success.
In our Architecture project we used many supplies to build this such as cardboard, crimped foil, popsicle sticks, hot glue, paper tape, plaster tape and for the paint i used red acrylic paint with a touch of brown acrylic to not make such a vibrant color.
This art work went fairly decent so far, there are a few things that could've went better like all the visible hot glue, and the not so straight lines on our barn. It is held together with the paper tape and hot glue. We had to envision this before we started which was difficult due to the fact that it's a complicated building. Alos a lot of developing craft with this.
In these artworks the plaster gauze was my favorite to work with just because of the way you can work with in and smooth it out. I did not like sowing the plushies, was just to small of an area for my fat fingers. Overall these artworks are fairly simple to complete, just takes a lot of envisioning.
In these artworks i stretched my skills by applying my imagination to my art works. Trial and error was the biggest thing i ran into almost every time. |
